Solidarity Craft Fair  Saturday December 13

An invitation from the Bethany Board of Directors

The Board of Directors is asking for your input on the following two questions as  they seek to make some significant financial decisions. On the back of this bulletin, you will find two sticky notes. Please answer each question on separate notes, then post them on the reflective walls that are located in the narthex.

  1. The Bible encourages us to give a portion of the gifts we receive as an offering of first fruits, stemming from a traditional religious offering of the first agricultural produce of the harvest. The offering of first fruits was given to God in the temple as an offering of thanksgiving for the harvest.  How can you imagine Bethany Church making a "first fruits" offering of thanks for the significant bequest we have received from the estate of Christina Jackman?
  2. We seek ways to be present and relevant ten years from now, so how can Bethany make use of the Jackman bequest as we seek to do justice, love kindness and walk humbly with God?
