World Wide Communion Sunday
Neighbor's in Need Offering
San Antonio Grande
This Sunday the people who went in August to San Antonio Grande, El Salvador will be leading worship. Carrie Youngblood, Liz Sykas-Ringgenberg, and Theresa Lever will be sharing reflections. The scripture lesson will be Colossians 3:12-15a. Amy Papineau will be doing God's Word for All Ages. And there will be lots of photos. Hymns will include a Spanish tone and the Anthem will "Turn the World Around" arr. Robert DeCormier.
It is also a day to remember the whole Body Of Christ during communion. Since the Body of Christ has so many colors and flavors, corn tortillas and coconut milk will be served for communion (along with some wheat bread and grape juice). An article on World Wide Communion Sunday can be found HERE.
We will also receive the Neighbor's in Need Offering. This annual Offering seeks to support peace and justice efforts to get rid of the root causes of our neighbor's need. More information can be found HERE.
Are three things to many for one Sunday? Or are all three a way to remind us that Christianity is bigger than we are and what we see?
The Sunday School will be with Rev. Mark working on "Jonah: God's Only Successful Prophet".
As Always, we will be happy to see you.
