We are collecting Food- for the Montpelier Food Pantry on the last Sunday of the month. Each month the Outreach Board focuses on collecting one type of food (as per request of the pantry). For the month of March our focus food will be fruit, dried, canned, boxed and bagged.
April 21 - The Auction is coming next month and your help is important. Please watch the bulletin board by the Chapel and volunteer your time. Pick up a "donor sheet" in the Narthex (or in the office) to report an item that you will donate for sale. Check the glass cabinet on the way to the Parlor so see a few items already expected.
The Nominating Committee- will soon be filling vacancies on boards and committees for next year. If you have a special interest in serving, there are many opportunities. In June we'll be electing officers and members of these boards and committees: Christian Education, Deacons, Music, Outreach, Trustees at Large, Finance, Property, and Stewardship. There are also appointed committees including Memorial Gifts, Personnel, Hospitality, Bethany Relations, Investments, Flowers, and Nominating. If you'd like to represent Bethany Church within the wider UCC community, there are delegates to the Washington Association and Vermont Conference. Please talk with the Nominating Committee to find out where help will be needed. The Committee is Phyllis Rowell, Jane Staudt, and Joanne Blakeman.

Variety Show getting closer! March 31st. Exciting Acts are coming together.
Theresa Lever is full of ideas and you know that results in FUN! Dinner begins at 5:30 and will be a Fundraiser for the San Antonio Grande Travelers. There is still room for YOUR Act.Please contact Joanne Hardy (#223-3246 or firstname.lastname@example.org) if you have questions or an Act!
Today- is the last chance to sign up for the Good Samaritan Haven Dinner which takes place on March 25th. Also Judi Joy is looking for a person, or two, who would be willing to volunteer to take care of the food after church on that Sunday, be at Bethany in the afternoon to get everything heated up and deliver the meal to the shelter in Barre between 6:30 and 7PM. Judi has the opportunity to see her son and grandson for the first time in almost three years and to watch her grandson play pool in a junior tournament in Massachusetts. Your help with this would be GREATLY appreciated!
Variety Show Dinner - The delicious dinner will feature last year's popular menu: baked three-cheese ziti, green beans, salad, Rev. Mark's rolls, desserts and drinks. The cost is $10 per adult, $5 per child under 10, and $25 per family. The proceeds are for this summer's trip to El Salvador! Reservations are helpful, though not required. Please let Joanne Hardy or Theresa Lever know if you plan to attend the dinner. Thank you!
Bethany Bowl- March 13, 2012, Fed: 107 Head Cook: Jim Conneman Dishwashers: Conrad Rowell and Gary Rogers HELPERS: Darlene Colby, Phyllis Rowell, Chris Terry, Anne DeVaughn, Pete Gomez, Chloe Gordon from MHS. Jim made a great one pot dish of chicken, sausage, rice, red peppers, celery and onions. On the second Tuesday of each month two little girls, Emma and Ella, who are home schooled, come in to wash and set tables. Most of the extra folks who volunteer occasionally do so because they have heard "on the street" that Bethany Church's soup kitchen is very welcoming.
