Food for the Montpelier Food Pantry Each month the Outreach Board focuses on collecting one type of food (as per request of the pantry). People may give any type of food, it too will be collected and blessed and sent. For the month of July our focus food is jelly.

HELP! We are still in need of a head cook- or cooks (if a couple of folks wish to alternate) for the second Tuesday at the Bethany Bowl. The head cook prepares the menu, buys the food ( with reimbursement), and manages the main entree on the second Tuesday while the other volunteers complete other needs. For more details call (476-4277) e-mail ( ) or see Phyllis Rowell. Thanks

The Brown Bag Study Group- had its closing picnic in June. We will take the summer off. All who are interested in joining this ecumenical women's study group in the fall are asked to keep their eyes and ears open for selecting a book--of spiritual content--which you feel would be of depth and challenging interest to the members. Chances are that if you are excited by its content, others will be also. In the meantime, have a great summer of restful change and then come back with enthusiasm, ready to stretch and challenge our minds together. Phyllis Merritt, BB Member

Nursery Care: We need volunteers to be available for the nursery this summer. A sign-up sheet is on the resource room door. Help us to show hospitality for the little ones in our church family.

Outreach For Flood Victims- Local flood victims need cleaning materials, clothing, non-perishable foods and personal items. Money may be sent by mail to PO Box 375, Barre VT. 05641. Bring items to The Salavation Army HQ 10-5, Mon. Through Sat.

Bethany Church is helping the Good Samaritan Homeless Haven with their Walk-a-thon. The walk will take place on Saturday, July 9th at the Barre Rec Field from 10:30-1. BETHANY CHURCH has 2 teams. Each team will need walkers but also sponsors/donations. The two teams are:
“All You Need Is Love!!” Judi Joy’s walking team for the Walk-a-thon will be joined on the walk by her 7-year-old granddaughter, Sophia. So if you are younger or slower this is the team for you to join. Let’s make this a multi-generational, multi-giggle event! If you are interested please call Judi at (802) 279-3177.
"Ecumenicals" Let Liz Sykas-Ringenberg know if you would like to be a part of this team! Invite friends from anywhere to be a part of this team. Meet and greet people ecumenically! And we won't care about speed either!

2012 Pledges - We have received only about a 2/3 of our pledges for 2012. If you have not yet had the opportunity to turn in your pledge card, forms are available on the table outside the church office. Your pledge information is necessary as we plan for 2012 budget! Thanks!
