Bethany’s Annual Meeting- is coming and the Nominating Committee needs to prepare their report this week. If you want to participate in making decisions for Bethany church, please contact Phyllis Rowell (472-4277) or Joanne Blakeman (223-3097) in the next couple of days. Vacancies include President Elect, Christian Education, Deacons, Finance Committee and Property Board. The Nominating Committee is grateful for the members who have stepped up and taken on responsibilities for next year.

Head Cook Needed For Bethany Bowl- Sonja Grahn, who is the head cook on the second Tuesday of each month, is opening a business with her sister later this summer. Consequently she will no longer be available at the Bethany Bowl starting the second Tuesday in August. The head cook's responsibility is to plan the menu, buy needed items for which he/she is reimbursed, and prepare the main entre whether it might be a pasta dish, a hearty soup or stew, etc. with help, of course. The other volunteers will prepare additional items that might be on the menu such as a tossed salad, cole slaw, sandwiches, cheese and crackers, desserts, beverages etc. If you or maybe a couple of folks who might share the responsibilities (we can be creative here) are interested in this mission please call Phyllis Rowell at 476-4277 or see her at church or at the Bowl on any Tuesday. We really do have fun in spite of the work!

Annual Reports-Yes reports are due in the office tomorrow May 23. Chairs, ministers and group leaders please take notice.

Can You help? We have received a request from Cindy Gardner Morris for help providing transportation for her mother, Iris Gardner, who would like to attend church when someone can bring her. Iris lives in Riverton. Also, Iris' husband, Ken, is at Woodridge and she likes,if possible, to visit him twice a day. Cindy is not always available to drive.. Can you or several folks help fill this need? Cindy's number is 223-5738 and Iris is at 485-8880.

Bethany Bowl- Tuesday, May 17, Fed 95 Head Cook: Joan Barrett. Dishwashers: Gary Rogers and Tom Lever Volunteers: Darlene Colby, Meri Nielsen, Katrina Pelkey, Anita Rogers, Pete Gomez, Cleo Facos, Anne DeVaughn, Phyllis Rowell and 2 MHS students. Joan's baked ziti was a hit along with a tossed salad and garlic bread.

Sunday School: Today is the last Sunday School class for this season! If you are interested in organizing activities for the children of Bethany Church during the summer, please contact a CE Board Member.

Nursery Care: We need volunteers to be available for the nursery this summer. A sign-up sheet will be available. Many Sundays, there are no children and you can return to the sanctuary. Please see a CE Board member if you have any questions.
REMINDER - The end of Bethany Church's fiscal year is coming up at the end of June. Just a gentle reminder that full payment of your 2011 pledge would be greatly appreciated by June 30th. If you are unsure of your pledge balance, please contact Don Welch for the information at donald.welch5@myfairpoint.net or by calling 223-6208. And as always, if you would like to make a special gift, or find that you can contribute more than your 2011 pledged amount, we would be happy to receive your gift! Thank you very much!
