Bethany Book Group - March's read is Saving Jesus From The Church by Robyn Meyers. This is a change from the original schedule.

Food for the Montpelier Food Pantry
Each month the Outreach Board focuses on collecting one type of food (as per request of the pantry). People may give any type of food, it too will be collected and blessed and sent. For the month of March our focus food is fruit juice. So, bring in boxes, or bottles.

Missed Worship? The announcements, including some that were only verbal, will be posted to the web site www.bethanychurchvt.org on Monday mornings at 9:00am.

Bethany's Spring Auction! Saturday, April 30th! This is a new fundraiser for Bethany Church, as well as an opportunity for us to work and have fun together! We will need lots of help to make the auction a success! There are sign-up sheets on the bulletin board in the hallway - please sign up to help in any way that you can - lots of types of jobs are available for all abilities!
Thinking about Spring Cleaning? When cleaning out your clutter, think about donating to the Bethany Spring Auction. We will be receiving donated items at the church beginning the afternoon of Monday, April 25th through Thursday, April 28th. Item pickup will be available. We will accept antiques, furniture, collectibles, china, crystal, tools, artwork, unused wedding presents that are lurking in your closets, and other unique items in good, clean condition. Please – no TV's, computers, clothing, or mattresses.

April 2nd Variety Show coming together nicely! 5:30 Dinner will be a FUNDRAISER for San Antonio Grande Show immediately following Questions or to sign up for a spot on stage, please contact Joanne Hardy at joannehardy789@msn.com or 223-3246. Thank you.

Sermon Series - We are in the midst of a sermon series that goes through Lent and extends into the the first 2 Sundays of Easter. The series reflects a reformation of the church that responds to some people's desire to focus on some elements of early Christianity that have been overwhelmed by society and culture. As a jumping off point we are using the book Saving Jesus from the Church by Rev. Robin Meyers. This book is a reconstructing of what it means to be a Christian who is intelligent, honest, and faithful. The chapter titles in the order we will use them on Sundays are listed in the Dialogue and on the website. Next week it will be Christianity as Compassion, Not Condemnation and the Youth Group will be leading the service.

Lenten Book Study - On four Tuesdays in Lent we will study a book written by Brian McLaren, “Naked Spirituality: A Life with God in 12 Simple Words” to deepen our faith. We will look at his four-stage framework for understanding the spiritual life. We will explore each of these stages and the associated practice starting on March 22 and continuing on March 29, April 5 and 12. Each practice centers on a single, simple word. Come and learn from the words: here, thanks, O, sorry, help, please, when, no, why, behold, yes, and silence.
There are a couple extra copies of the book available if you would like to join this study. Please see Rev. Mark.

In the Parlor today after worship, Sue Maywood will have yarn that is looking for a new knitter's home. You are invited to make donations for the yarn you take, which will go toward Bethany Church's operating budget.
