Think About Your Giving

We Are Family

To the church of God that is in Corinth…together with all those who in every place call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

I Corinthians 1:1-7

When our members who visited our friends in San Antionio Grande last summer shared their experiences with us as they did Sunday, October 17th, we learn first hand how the sharing of our gifts works in the lives of others. Through the stories shared by the visiting team members we were reminded how important this ministry is. In this program we learned how much the scholarships we provide have helped the children rise above the very limited resources they have. We also learned that just visiting and sharing our interest in Music and Art can mean as much as building things can do.

The first Sunday of October was World Communion Sunday. Alice Rothchild spoke about Palestine after worship. This month reminds us that we are not alone in our individual congregations, nor are we alone as North American Christians. We are part of a family that, from its very beginnings, included people of many nations, ethnicities and languages. The apostle Paul regularly reminded the churches of their connections with other churches, and he also asked them for financial contributions to help the struggling mother church in Jerusalem.

All of us are one in Christ Jesus. We learn from one another, we rejoice with one another and we mourn with one another. We share our resources of imagination, of skills, of time, and of money with one another across the worldwide Christian community. Thanks be to God for our family in Christ!
